Pakistani-born Canadian actress Iman Villani, who started her career with the American web series ‘Miss Marvel’, announced the release of her first science fiction film ‘The Marvels’ in November.
Iman Villani’s web series ‘Miss Marvel’ was released in 2022, also starring Fawad Khan and Mehwish Hayat. In ‘Miss Marvel’, Iman Villani played the lead character ‘Kamala Khan’, a Pakistani-American girl. After the web series, the said character of Iman Villani has now been presented in ‘The Marvels’ and the actress will be seen in action for the first time in the film.
‘The Marvels’ is the sequel to Marvel Studios’ 2019 hit ‘Captain Marvel’ and the new film features three female Superwoman characters. The short trailer released by ‘Marvel’ showcases the three main superheroine characters of the film. The film stars Brie Larson, Iman Villani, and Teona Parris in lead roles.
‘The Marvels’ features all three superheroines in their traditional roles, with Iman Villani reprising her role as ‘Kamala Khan’. It is difficult to understand the story by watching the trailer, but it is hinted that the three heroines are capable of crushing opponents by reaching from one place to another in the blink of an eye due to their special abilities. The trailer shows action along with comedy while it is hinted that the film will also feature a family story.
It should be noted that ‘Miss Marvels’ has been directed by female filmmaker Nia DaCosta and she has written the story. The first film of the said sequel ‘Captain Marvel’ was released on International Women’s Day in 2019, earning a record, the role of Captain Marvel was played by actress Brie Larson.
The characters of all three heroines featured in ‘The Marvels’ have been featured in various Marvel Studios web series, films, and books, and this is the studio’s 33rd superhero film overall. The trailer of the film has mentioned that ‘Miss Marvel’ will be released in November 2023, but the release date has not been announced.
