Adnan Siddiqui, who played the role of a rich married man ‘Shehwar’ in the popular drama ‘Mere Paas Tum Ho‘, revealed that if he had known that his drama would be a success, he would have paid more.
‘Mere Paas Tum Ho’ was the most popular drama of 2019 and 2020, in which Adnan Siddiqui played The role of a married rich man named ‘Shahwar’, who falls in love with a married poor woman. Adnan Siddiqui’s character ‘Shehwar’ falls in love with Ayeza Khan’s character ‘Mahwish’ in the drama Mere Paas Tum Ho.
Mehwish’s character is the wife of Humayun Saeed, the poor character of the play, ‘Danish’, but due to poverty, Mehwish wants to divorce her husband and marry a rich man, ‘Shahwar’. Mere Paas Tum Ho’ was also criticized for showing a married man and woman in Pakistani society due to their non-wealthy relationship.
Adnan Siddiqui has talked about the drama Mere Paas Tum Ho once before, but now once again Adnan Siddiqui has said that he did not know that the drama would be so successful. Adnan Siddiqui, while speaking on Junaid Akram’s podcast, not only discussed the drama Mere Paas Tum Ho but also discussed other issues.
He said that his first play was ‘Chain of Dreams’, written by Anwar Maqsood, after which he did the play ‘Arosa’, which brought him fame. During the program, Adnan Siddiqui revealed that before acting, he also worked in marketing and he also worked in the famous mobile company ‘Jazz’.
According to Adnan Siddiqui, he was an employee of the ‘Jazz’ company when it started in Pakistan, but later quit his marketing job and started acting full-time. During the podcast, Adnan Siddiqui also shared his experience of working with famous Hollywood actress Angelina Jolie and said that the said film was also shot in India and he stayed there for more than two months for the shoot.
According to him, during his stay in India, he was initially accommodated in a small and standard hotel, while British cameramen including Angelina Jolie were also accommodated in a large and luxurious hotel, which he protested to the team and later they were also given a room in the same hotel where Angelina Jolie was staying.
Adnan Siddiqui said that he was underpaid for the said film but then he increased his remuneration with the help of an American organization and also increased his perks. He described the time he spent shooting in India with Angelina Jolie and late Bollywood actor Irrfan Khan as a wonderful time.
Speaking on the podcast ‘Mere Paas Tum Ho’, Adnan Siddiqui revealed that he was offered the role of ‘Shahwar’ by Humayun Saeed and said that the said role would suit him well. According to him, Humayun Saeed told him that the script of ‘Mere Paas Tum Ho’ was written 6 years ago.
Adnan Siddiqui praised all his co-stars saying that Humayun Saeed and Ayeza Khan acted brilliantly while Nadeem Baig directed well and Khalilur Rahman Qamar wrote very well. In response to a question, Adnan Siddiqui told the host that I had no idea that the drama ‘Mere Paas Tum Ho’ would be so successful and if I had known, I would have given more money.
Adnan Siddiqui also admitted that the success of ‘Mere Paas Tum Ho’ benefited him a lot, saying that he was offered many commercials and dramas and he took full advantage of it. Although again at the end of the interview, Adnan Siddiqui revealed that if he had known that the drama ‘Mere Paas Tum Ho’ would have been successful, he would have paid more, but he did not reveal how much he was paid to act in the drama.
