Senior actor, producer, and writer Sohail Ahmed has said that TV dramas and movies also have a hand in the immorality and unrest in Pakistani society. Sohail Ahmed has been a part of the showbiz industry for the last five decades, he has worked in dozens of dramas and films including theatres.

Sohail Ahmed has also been writing plays, he has also produced several plays while he has also directed them. Recently, in an interview given to ‘V News’, he spoke openly about the impact of TV and movies on society and other issues.

In response to a question, he said that when he started acting 42 years ago, Pakistani society was narrow-minded and simple, at that time everyone had to endure family hardships to enter showbiz. According to him, he also faced strictures from his family and especially his father, but as acting was his passion and passion, he did not mind such restrictions.

Sohail Ahmed admitted that his father had never seen any of his dramas. Talking about society’s relationship with showbiz, the senior actor said that he does not agree that showbiz people make dramas and films on the same topics that people want to watch. He said that the producers should not make dramas and movies on the topics that people want to see, because people want to see a lot and content cannot be made according to their wishes.

Sohail Ahmed said that the director should produce such content that everyone is forced to watch it. He further said that Pakistani dramas and films also have a hand in unrest, immorality, and low mentality spread in Pakistani society.

Sohail Ahmed gave the example that a best actor like Sultan Rahi made ignorant type of films on special topics and he left the world after washing his pants and shirt all his life with the hope that he would make a good film. He said that in the movies, 40 and 50 people who shed blood were presented as heroes and the characters who solved dozens of police cases were also shown as gentlemen.

Sohail Ahmed said that in a country like Pakistan, where poets like Allama Iqbal were born, the Censor Board allowed such nonsense poetry to be shown on the cinema screens, which can only be regretted after hearing and seeing it. No example of such poetry has been given. The actor said that since Pakistan is an Islamic country and like other Islamic countries there should be censorship in films and dramas.

At the same time, he suggested that the government should link the scripts of films and dramas with the language departments of the universities, from there the script should be approved and a film or drama should be made on it so that quality content can be made and then there is no need for censors. Came.

He bluntly said that films and dramas also have a hand in other outdated traditions including immorality, low mentality, and unrest in Pakistani society.
