There are reports that the entertainment streaming website and production company Netflix is working on making Pakistan’s first original web series, which is being produced under the banner of ‘Momna Dared Films’.
The news has been circulating for some time that Netflix will soon release Pakistan’s first original web series and now the American showbiz website ‘Variety’ has reported that the web series has been cast by major actors.
According to the website, the web series called ‘Jo Bashe Hain Sing Meet Lo‘ stars Mahira Khan, Fawad Khan, Ahad Raza Mir, Sanam Saeed, Hamza Ali Abbasi, Bilal Ashraf, Maya Ali, Hania Aamir, Khushal Khan, Nadia Jameel, Umair Rana, Iqra Aziz, and Samina Ahmed were cast.
According to the report, the story of the first Pakistani original web series will be based on Farhat Ishtiaq’s novel of the same name and will be shot in Britain and Italy apart from Pakistan.
The story of the novel ‘Jo Bacha Hain Sing Samet Lo’ revolves around a young man named Sikandar who is a law student at the famous Harvard University but his life takes many unique turns and a new turn in his life at that time. It comes when in the European country of Italy, he meets an artist named Lisa, who has a very painful past.
It is not yet clear how many episodes the said web series will be based on and when it will be released, but it is likely to be released next year.
The said web series will be produced and released by Momina Dared Productions, a drama maker for Hum TV, under the banner of Momna Dared Films, a company based in Dubai, United Arab Emirates (UAE).
It is not yet clear whether the shooting of ‘Jo Bashe Hain Sing Samet Lo’ has started or not, but according to Showbiz Magazine, Pakistan’s first original Netflix web series will see the mega cast in action.
It should also be noted here that Netflix released the first original web series from neighboring India called ‘Sacred Games’ in 2016, after which dozens of films and web series have been released there.
Similarly, Netflix’s first Arab original web series for the Middle East was released in 2018, but in 2022 Netflix also began producing Arab content in the Middle East.
Recently, Netflix released the teaser of the first Saudi Arabian original web series and announced its release on September 6.
After other countries in the region, the details of Pakistan’s first Netflix original web series have also come out and, likely, Netflix will also state in this regard.
