Pakistan India Match: Pakistan setting new record in the Asia Cup

Pakistan India Match: Pakistan setting new record in the Asia Cup. Pakistan created a new history by setting a record thanks to the excellent performance of the bowlers in the match against the traditional rival India. In the Asia Cup match played between Pakistan and India at Paley Kelly, India won the toss and elected to bat first.

Pakistan’s fast bowlers played well from the start of the match and dismissed the opening four Indian batsmen including Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli for 66 runs. Ishan Kishan and Hardik Pandya’s partnership of over 100 runs managed the Indian batting line, but as the Pakistani fast bowlers came back to the bowling attack, the Indian batting line started to falter again and the entire team was bundled out for 266 runs.

In the match, Shaheen Shah Afridi took four wickets while Haris Rauf and Naseem Shah took three wickets each for Pakistan and in this way, all the Indian wickets were taken by fast bowlers. With this, the Pakistani team created a new history and this is the first time in the Asia Cup that all the wickets were taken by fast bowlers in an innings.

However, the hopes of fans waiting for an exciting match were dashed when rain interrupted the match before the start of Pakistan’s innings and the match could not be resumed.

As the match was rained out, one point was divided between the two teams. Najam Sethi, the former chairman of Pakistan Cricket Board expressed disappointment that the match was rained out and said that the rain ruined the best match of the game but the rain was predicted in advance.

He said that as the PCB chairman, he had insisted on the Asian Cricket Council that the matches should be played in the UAE but unnecessary excuses were given to host Sri Lanka and said that it is very hot in Dubai.

He said that it would have been as hot in the UAE as it was during the Asia Cup in September 2022 last year or the Indian Premier League played in April 2014 and September 2020. Such politics in sports is inexcusable.
