Shah Rukh Khan’s two upcoming films have set records even before their release. Shah Rukh Khan’s film “Jawan” directed by Atlee is slated to release on September 7. Meanwhile, the Rajkumar Hirani-directed film “Dunky” is scheduled to release by December 2023.
Indian film industry king Shah Rukh Khan’s two upcoming films ‘Jawan’ and ‘Dunky’ are setting new pre-release success records as the rights of both are selling at good numbers on non-theatrical platforms.
According to an Indian website, the rights of Jawan and Dinky were sold for a total of Rs 450-500 crore. The digital, satellite, and music rights of the film “Jawan” have been sold for around Rs 250 crore, while the same rights for the film “Dunky” have been sold for around Rs 230 crore.
An Indian website has reported from its sources that the rights of the movie “Jawan” have been sold in all languages, while the primary rights of Dunky have been sold only in the Hindi language.
The website further informed through its sources that some non-theatrical deals are still pending. While the total non-theatrical earnings of both films have reached close to Rs 500 crore. The individual deals for both films are the biggest ever for a feature film.
There are reports that Shah Rukh Khan had appealed to the owners of “OTT” platforms globally to buy the rights, as the deal would end up being a win-win for all stakeholders.
