Actress Sarwat Geelani will be part of an international project called ‘Farar’, a 6-part web series that will premiere on 23 September 2023 at the 14th Annual Chicago South Asian Film Festival.
According to the report of American magazine Variety, this series directed by Mehreen Jabbar, a Pakistani television and film director based in New York, also includes Maryam Saleem and Maha Hassan, famous for ‘A False Love Story’.
According to the poster of the International web series Farar shared on Instagram recently, actress Sarwat Geelani will play the lead role. New York-based Mehreen Jabbar has done the directorial duties while Rida Bilal has written the story.
Exact details of the story have not been provided but it is only said that the series revolves around 3 girls who have a deep friendship and share all their secrets.
These three girls look for opportunities to change their lives, one of them Sabrina is a widow, she is a hairdresser by profession in this series, Sabrina faces relationship problems in her life, and the other girl’s name is Tanya who aspires to be an actress but suffers from body image issues.
The third girl is Huma, a determined sportswoman who is under pressure to get married. Together, these three girls work hard, braving the hustle and bustle of Karachi’s busy streets to make their dreams come true.
It is a 6-part web series that will premiere on September 23, 2023, at the 14th Annual Chicago South Asian Film Festival. The series is a collaboration between the leading Indian studio and the Indian subcontinent-focused programming block ‘Zindagi’, which aims to produce content that reflects the culture and issues of South Asia.
Sarwat Geelani is now working on another project after the huge success of the Cannes award-winning and Oscar-shortlisted Pakistani film Joyland. This new effort on his part is to attract viewers and fans at the global level, especially in India and Pakistan.
Sarwat Geelani says that the experience of working in Farar as an actor was very interesting and an incredible journey, the series is not just a story but represents our emotions and reflects the deep connection between human beings.
