Well-known playwright and writer Khalil-ur-Rehman Qamar says that a good and virtuous wife is the blessing of God, while no one can train a man better than his wife. Khalil-ur-Rahman Qamar has generally faced criticism for portraying women in minor or minor roles in his plays.
Apart from this, he also faces the wrath of people for using harsh language towards women in talk shows in general. However, he has always been a champion of women’s rights and claims to have written the strongest and best female characters.
Recently, he participated in Dunya TV’s show ‘Mazaq Raat’, where he talked about showbiz and other issues. While speaking in the program, he said that writing a good drama or script cannot be done only by writing good Urdu.
According to him, the new writers who are coming should understand that writing good writing is a gift of nature, they should not write what others have seen. He said that Faiza Iftikhar and Umira Ahmed are good writers while other playwrights are also writing good scripts.
Khalil-ur-Rahman Qamar advised writers not to write under the pressure of producers or directors, and to write stories of their own free will. He claimed that he never wrote according to any producer’s instructions and hence he faced hard times and endured hunger.
In response to a question, he said that after him Humayun Saeed had the second biggest hand in the success of his popular play ‘Mere Paas Tum Ho’. He said that he also punished the people who committed ‘disloyalty’ in the said play.
While speaking in the program, he also talked about marriage and husband-wife relationships and said that husbands should keep in mind that they should not become their husbands in front of their wives. According to them, the husband should remove the thought from his mind that the wife is obliged to follow or act on the principles of things told by him.
The playwright advised men to respect their wives, not argue with them, do not underestimate them, if they sometimes disrespect their husbands, they should tolerate them. Khalilur Rahman Qamar said that a good and virtuous wife is a blessing from God and he believes that no one can train a man except his wife.
He advised people that just as sons cannot speak in front of their mothers, they bow their heads, so should they bow their heads in front of their wives, because they are also mothers.
